Cops or Police Officers


Is there a difference between Cops and Police Officers?


Yes, there is a big difference and if you've ever had to call them for domestic abuse, you'll know the difference as well.

This page and Chapter 3 talks about those differences.

I do not want to give the opinion that I am against the Police - I am not. I strongly recommend that if abuse is happening to you.....to CALL THE POLICE 
IMMEDIATELY.

I want this page and Chapter 3 to show that you may call the Police but do not expect one to show up all the time.
Police are a rare breed, cops are plentiful.

I do know that the many times I have called the police, only one came. Many cops came and left, but only ONE Police Officer came to help me. I knew immediately that he was a Police Officer, it was in his eyes.

There was no blame, no "Here we go again" looks, no looks that said "You must like it if you stay"; no looks that said "Why is this crazy lady always calling us", none of those looks which many of us have come to know.

There was just compassion and caring. His voice,his eyes all said that he understood.

After meeting so many cops, it was really nice to finally meet a Police Officer. To the Police Officer who came out that day - I want you to know that you made a difference in my life and I will never forget it.


With luck, maybe this page will find it's way to the Police Stations around the world and maybe, just maybe we'll end up with more Police Officers than Cops.
